The story of Technology Properties

Technology Properties was founded in 2010 in response to the need to develop Turku Science Park. At the time, the attractiveness of the office premises in the area had declined and rents had stagnated. Ownership of the buildings was fragmented among several parties that competed for the same tenants and were unwilling to invest in developing the properties.

Where it all began?

One of the area’s major owners, the City of Turku, led by Technology Properties’ current CEO Mikko Lehtinen, recognised the untapped potential of the area. As a result, property ownership was consolidated into a single company that began investing not only in individual premises but in the development of the entire district. This marked the birth of Technology Properties, with the goal of making Turku Science Park the most attractive environment in Finland for businesses and communities.

Today, the company serves over 300 customers and owns approximately 188,000 square metres of rentable space in the Science Park and Itäharju areas. Technology Properties employs more than 40 professionals whose shared ambition is to make working life better.
