Sustainability
At Technology Properties, sustainability is reflected in carbon neutrality, energy efficiency and certified buildings.
Sustainability guides everything we do at Technology Properties. Environmental, social and governance aspects – including our owners and stakeholders – are taken into account in all operations, whether related to construction, people’s wellbeing or long‑term planning.
Sustainability in our operations
Most tangibly, sustainability is evident in our decision to use electricity generated exclusively from wind power and district heating produced from renewable energy sources. All new buildings developed by Technology Properties are constructed in accordance with the requirements of internationally recognised environmental certifications. In addition, existing buildings and their energy efficiency are continuously improved, and environmental certifications are pursued for them whenever possible.
The implementation of sustainability is closely monitored at Technology Properties through various indicators. These indicators show that we have been highly successful in our sustainability efforts, yet the work continues. In line with the wider City of Turku Group, our goal is to achieve carbon neutrality by 2029.
Economic sustainability
Economic sustainability means stable and long‑term value creation for us. We develop the properties we own and the services connected to them to meet our customers’ needs while generating steady and sustainable returns for our owners.
Social sustainability
Social sustainability means transparent operations and taking care of the wellbeing of our employees and customers. We engage in active dialogue with our stakeholders and promote equality in all our activities.
Environmental sustainability
Environmental sustainability means taking environmental impacts into account in everything we do. We use green energy sources, continuously improve energy efficiency, and develop properties whose environmental impact is minimised throughout their entire lifecycle.
