This summer, Turun Teknologiakiinteistöt implemented a bicycle parking pilot where 50 tenants were given access to a free and secure bicycle parking space at street level in ParkCity. The aim of the pilot was to highlight the versatile and secure bicycle parking options in the area and to support commuters using light traffic.
The first 50 people to register were included in the bicycle parking pilot, and the spots were filled quickly, which clearly shows the high interest in secure bicycle parking solutions.
The ParkCity bicycle parking was accessed using a door code, and despite the summer, it was used throughout the entire pilot period. The most positive surprise was that the parking facility was also used in July, which is usually the quietest month of the summer in the Science Park.
– I think the pilot was a success. It was nice to see that our tenants found new ways to utilize the area's services, and at the same time, we gained information about the demand for different types of solutions, says Katri Pyöli, Service Manager at Turun Teknologiakiinteistöt.
The pilot provided valuable experience and feedback, which will help in developing bicycle parking in the Science Park in the future.
