The ElectroCity property has been awarded the LEED Gold environmental certificate. LEED is a prestigious international building certification system that indicates excellent environmental considerations in the building.
The office building ElectroCity, located at Tykistökatu 4 and owned by Teknologiakiinteistöt, has received the LEED Gold environmental certificate. The certification used the LEED v4.1 Operations and Maintenance: Existing Buildings rating system.
The LEED Operations and Maintenance certification assessed the building's energy efficiency, water usage, waste management efficiency, indoor conditions, and commuting and occupant comfort, among other things. The certificate is based on an independent third-party assessment of the building's and its maintenance's environmental characteristics and is internationally comparable.
ElectroCity achieved high scores in areas including energy efficiency, commuting, indoor air quality, and user satisfaction.
In connection with the certification, a comfort survey was conducted for ElectroCity users, examining occupant satisfaction regarding the building's indoor conditions.
– The survey was answered by both tenants and service providers in cleaning and property maintenance to ensure the most diverse range of responses possible. 82% of respondents stated they were satisfied with their working environment in the building, says Erkki Oikarinen, Sustainability Manager at Teknologiakiinteistöt.
