Having worked in new customer acquisition and project development at the construction company YIT, Toni Malkamäki will be responsible for customer relationships at Teknologiakiinteistöt and act as the manager for the account team. Malkamäki has extensive networks across Finland, as he worked on projects ranging from Jyväskylä to the Capital Region during his time at YIT.
– I spent my childhood in Raisio, and seven years ago I moved back to the Turku region. For the last 10 years, I worked in the Capital Region and managed extensive customer portfolios in many different office projects.
“For me, the most important thing is to take the customer perspective into account in everything we do.”
The Turku Science Park is already familiar to Malkamäki through the Kupittaa Kärki project. At Teknologiakiinteistöt, he is particularly interested in long-term customer relationships and being part of the customers' everyday lives.
– For me, the most important thing is to take the customer perspective into account in everything we do. At YIT, I brought customer insights to the designers, and I know how to consider the nuances that ensure premises meet the customers' needs. At Teknologiakiinteistöt, I will be strongly involved in managing customer relationships. In the future, the development of commercial premises will increasingly focus on ensuring that spaces can adapt to changing needs and be suitable for other uses if necessary.
Malkamäki sees that the Turku Science Park provides value to customers through its good location, services, and sense of community. Offices will still be needed in the future because work is about communication between people.
– Even though hybrid work is here to stay, encounters and working together are what matter. Also, from the perspective of employee well-being, work should be done in the office during working hours.
Malkamäki considers Teknologiakiinteistöt an innovative and bold real estate developer. This impression was reinforced by the company's social media content, which he explored after seeing the job advertisement.
