Sport at the Best Spot event united volleyball fans

Turun Teknologiakiinteistöt’s popular Sport at the Best Spot events continued in late November when TUTO Volley hosted a volleyball evening at Joki Visitor Centre. The event once again gathered a full room of sports fans to enjoy the volleyball atmosphere, with approximately 140 participants present.

At the start of the event, Turun Teknologiakiinteistöt’s Community Manager Carita Varjonen shared the latest news from Turun Teknologiakiinteistöt and Joki Visitor Centre.

TUTO’s Sports Director and CEO Oskari Eko and the team’s head coach Jani Niskakangas arrived to share the team's latest news and pre-game feelings about the evening's match. The Mestaruusliiga match featured TUTO Volley versus Hurrikaani-Loimaa.

Karri Virtanen, who started as the CEO of the Finnish Volleyball Association in September, conveyed the association's greetings and praised the Kupittaa Sports Hall as an excellent venue.

TUTO Hockey CEO Kimmo Hollmén, who was among the guests, also joined the stage for an interview to share the latest news about the TUTO ice hockey team and discuss the collaboration between ice hockey and volleyball. TUTO Volley will play next at Kupittaa on Saturday, December 2nd, which is also the day of a TUTO Hockey home game. It promises to be a day full of sports, as a ticket to the Mestis match also grants access to the TUTO Volley match, and a TUTO Volley match ticket allows entry to the ice hockey game.

After the volleyball and hockey updates, we enjoyed juicy burgers from Ravintola Mauno, providing the energy for the evening’s match at the Sports Hall.

The match event celebrated the 100th anniversary of the birth of the passionate volleyball enthusiast, President Mauno Koivisto. In the match, TUTO Volley rose to the challenge against the clear favorites, Hurrikaani-Loimaa, and the match ended in a 3-1 victory for Hurrikaani. A season-record crowd of 802 spectators was present. Thanks to everyone!
