Abloy, which was named Finland's most respected brand this year, moved its Turku office to Tiedepuisto in September. The new space and its central location are receiving praise, and it certainly doesn't hurt that the company's own products are visible on the building's doors as well.
For Abloy, which manufactures locking and access control systems, space issues became relevant when their Turku branch's premises underwent renovation. The new 115-square-meter office was found on the second floor of PharmaCity.
– We are really satisfied that the space was arranged for us. Finding a space that meets our requirements is not entirely easy, as there are strict criteria for spaces within the group and there wasn't much available that was suitable, but thanks to the flexibility of Teknologiakiinteistöt, we were able to have a suitable space tailored for us, says Abloy's Sales Director Mika Wanne.
A renovation was carried out in the space before moving in, during which three rooms were removed, a kitchenette was built, and the surfaces were renewed. Now six people work in the office, but it can accommodate up to 12 workstations if necessary.

As a location, Turun Tiedepuisto is good not only logistically but also from a recruitment perspective. We travel a lot in our work, so good transport connections are primarily important to us. Generally, we move around Turku and the surrounding area, for which the location of Tiedepuisto is excellent. Trips to Tampere and Helsinki are also easily managed from here, says Abloy's Regional Manager for the Turku region Marko Pietikäinen.
At Abloy, work is done freely both at the office and remotely. Wanne and Pietikäinen are drawn to the office by the peace of work and the intermediate storage of products needed for client meetings.
– It's nice to go to the office to meet colleagues. And now that there are enough lunch options, I've ended up visiting many different places for lunch. The best thing about the new space is the location and the flexibility of Teknologiakiinteistöt, Wanne summarizes.
