What does lunch taste like "on the other side of Helsinginkatu" in InfraCity's Energeia? Our test team headed out as lunch critics for the first time in a while and were delighted by the variety of options and the excellent consideration of special diets in InfraCity, known as the home base of Turku Energia.
InfraCity's street level saw the opening of Arkea's Mood lunch restaurant concept Energeia immediately after the completion of the building's first phase. Mood Energeia offers Scandinavian delicacies and flavors from around the world made from fresh ingredients, and its menu is designed by head chef Jani Torkko, who has a long history in the restaurant industry.
Immediately upon entering the restaurant, the test team's attention is drawn to the cozy and bright dining area, dominated by large windows and walls covered in wooden slats. The restaurant's furnishings are stylish and Scandinavian, understated yet not boring. Attention has also been paid to food presentation: everything has been clearly thought out down to the dishes and packaging.
On the test day, pita kebab with fries is available for meat eaters, a vegetarian pita with fries and vegan tzatziki for vegetarians, as well as root vegetable puree soup, not forgetting dessert and coffee. The clarity of the menu and the good labeling for special diets delight the testers and make choosing lunch effortless. Pita kebab and vegetarian pita, as well as fries and fresh salad, are selected for the plates. The portions receive praise from everyone, and especially the variety brought by the new restaurant pleases everyone.
After the main course, the test team heads to get coffee and, to their surprise, finds a layer cake made of meringue on the dessert table. Pavlova is available on the test day because Energeia had successfully managed to significantly reduce food waste during the waste reduction week. A vegan dessert is also arranged for the tester following a special diet in no time, and the test team's joint final assessment is that they must come to Energeia again.
