Around 50,000 people work and study in the area, united by a desire to do things together. People in the Science Park meet weekly at Science Park workouts, as well as breakfast seminars, Christmas porridge events, Shrove Tuesday skating, and sports events organized by Teknologiakiinteistöt in the area.
In the Science Park, everything is nearby, and you can quickly reach the city center of Turku on foot, by bike, by bus, or by scooter.

The Turku Science Park has been on a huge rise over the last ten years, and it is no wonder, as the area is the undisputed hub of Turku's business life, where science meets art and business meets the public sector.
The Turku Science Park is home to over 400 different companies and organizations, led by the University of Turku, Åbo Akademi University and Turku University of Applied Sciences. Around 50,000 people work and study in the area, which is located just a short walk from the Turku city center.
History
The Turku Science Park began with the construction of DataCity in 1988. The underlying idea was to bring high-tech companies from Turku and academic research under the same roof. The project began with the idea of developer and property councillor Juhani Lunden for an "IT house," which was named DataCity.
The future of the Turku Science Park
The development of the Turku campus and the Turku Science Park is one of the spearhead projects set by the Turku City Council. The expansion of the Turku Science Park towards the Itäharju industrial area creates an even more significant urban center for expertise, innovation, mobility, and housing in the area.
Visitor and Innovation Centre Joki
Visitor Centre Joki is a versatile meeting and event center in the heart of the Turku Science Park. At Joki, you get everything you need for your events under one roof.
Joki's facilities can accommodate anything from large live events to smaller private gatherings, and serve as a venue for high-quality virtual or hybrid events.
Joki is open on weekdays from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Art in the Science Park parking garages
There are 60 works of art in the parking garages of Teknologiakiinteistöt, most of which originate from the Science Park parking garage revitalization project held in 2021. The aim of the project was to make the parking garages under BioCity and DataCity more comfortable, inviting, and interesting through art.
It is possible to view the works in the parking garages on weekdays from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Access to the garages is via BioCity and DataCity elevators.
There is art everywhere in the Science Park
The development of the Turku Science Park into an art park began in 1995, when Stiftelsen för Åbo Akademi and the University of Turku Foundation donated Carl-Gustaf Lilius's sculpture The World Dance to the universities. Since then, more works of art have been acquired for the Science Park through various projects and competitions.

We organize guided tours in our properties and their surroundings. The tours are suitable for everyone from work teams to school groups, as they are always planned and tailored according to the guests' interests. During the tour, it is possible to explore, for example, Visitor Centre Joki, underground art in the parking garages, admire the city landscape from the representation space Circus, hear about the transformation of Itäharju into a residential and business area, and slide down the slide located in EduCity. Tours are primarily organized on weekdays from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. The guides for the tours are Teknologiakiinteistöt employees.
